Emmylou Harris

Emmylou Harris is coming to The Masonic in SF on Thursday 1st October 2026 to honor the songs of Steve Earle with a special tribute show along with other singer song writers and friends of the legendary country singer. Of course, Emmylou is preeminent female singer in the country and Americana repertoire, with repertoire of classic country songs such as "Boulder to Birmingham", "Pancho and Lefty" (her version of which she sang with Will Jennings on a Grammy winning recording), "Together Again" (which she sang with Gram Parsons) and many more recent rootsy songs. She received multiple Grammys and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, so here her interpretations of Earle's songs will be especially meaningful, as the two artists come from similar musical stock.

Buddy Miller

Buddy Miller and Elizabeth Cook will join Emmylou on this special evening of song. As frequent collaborators and friends, this rare collective of artists will deliver interpretations of songs from throughout Steve Earle's writing career. Miller delivers his signature take of classic country songs and has been recognized with multiple Americana Music Association awards. Most recently Buddy Miller released the album 'Cayamo Sessions' in 2023 a rootsy take on a variety of the songs performed on his annual trips down the Mississippi. A unique perspective on one of America's greatest singer song writers will be on display.

Elizabeth Cook

Elizabeth Cook: She writes songs that are a unique blend of the traditional country of the past and the songwriting of today's styles. Songs by Ms. Cook that her fans love are "frequently It Takes Balls to Be a Woman", "Heroin Addict Sister", and "El Camino". Her most recent work is her 2020 album "Aftermath". She has been performing at the Grand Ole Opry regularly as well as making numerous TV appearances. It will be great to see her take on the Steve Earle song catalog.
