The Toronto-based band was formed in 1998 and features lead vocalist and synth/guitarist Emily Haines, guitarist/synth James Shaw, bassist Joshua Winstead and drummer Joules Scott-Key. Founded by Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning in 1999. Broken Social Scene brings the energy of a block party to the venue and their diverse line-up has been anywhere from six to nineteen members strong. Membership can also change on a song-to-song basis or even minute-by-minute. Some of their biggest songs include 7/4 (Shoreline), Lover’s Spit, All to All, Almost Crimes and Forced to Love.

Close out the Canadian lineup with the extraordinary indie pop and chamber pop group Stars, who hail from Montreal. Formed in 2000, the quintet is comprised of vocalist Torquil Campbell, vocalist Amy Millan, bassist Evan Cranley, keyboardist Chris Seligman and drummer Pat McGee. With a string of catchy power pop anthems under their belt, including such hits as “Your Ex-Lover Is Dead”, “Take Me to the Riot”, “Elevator Love Letter”, “Ageless Beauty” and “Set Yourself on Fire”, this critically acclaimed band have proven themselves to be masters of the craft.
